Family Day - Monday, February 15, 2021

We drove out to Cherry Beach to join in on a true Canadian winter event - walking on ice that was once water.

It was my first time seeing the lake being completely frozen. Months of snow and subzero temperature have transformed the water into ice with some frosting on top.

In return, we got an incredible scene and experience nonetheless. Thanks nature!

The first step on ice felt surreal and horrifying at the same time. I was thinking, “Of course the ice won’t crack”. However, my body was in denial and didn’t want to leave the land. The second step, however, brought me back to being a little kid. The joy of playing in the snow and the heart-pounding feeling of balancing between slipping and falling.

Now, grab a hot beverage and join me in walking on ice! Winter is coming… real fast.
